What Pro adds
The core editing experience, automatic git version history, ranked search, wiki links, backlinks, and HTML export are free forever. Tessamark Pro unlocks advanced visual workflows and sync automation:
- AI assistant: Add your licence in Settings to enable it.
- Knowledge graph: Backlinks and wiki links keep working without it.
- Ghost publishing: Your notes stay plain Markdown files you can publish anywhere by hand.
- PDF export: Exporting to HTML and Markdown keeps working without it.
- Visual timeline and side-by-side diff: Your version history is still all there, as a plain list, and restoring any version is always free.
- Publishing your version history: Reading history from your other devices stays free.
- Pushing to your own git remote: Pulling from your remote stays free.
- End-to-end encryption: Opening notes you have already encrypted is never gated.
- Citations and bibliography: A document with citations still renders without it.
- Search across version history: Your history stays free to browse and restore from, and so does ranked search across your notes.
- AI change summaries: Add your licence in Settings to enable it.
- Visual theme editor: Importing themes and CSS snippets keeps working without it.
- Merging outside changes: You can still reload the file or keep your version, and both stay in your history.
Purchasing Pro
Tessamark Pro is available as a one-off licence or as a subscription. We sell licences directly through our Merchant of Record, Paddle, and through the Apple App Store and Google Play (in the Google Play build).

Entering a licence key
If you purchased on tessamark.com via Paddle, you receive a licence key by email. To activate:
- Open Settings → Pro.
- Enter your licence key into the text field under Already have a licence?.
- Click Activate. Pro unlocks immediately across all features.
One licence on every platform
One licence covers all platforms: macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Linux and Android. A licence can be active on a limited number of devices; the licensing server counts them when you activate.

Offline verification and the licensing server
Tessamark checks a licence's signature on your device, with no network connection, using Ed25519 public-key cryptography. Whether a licence is genuine never depends on the server.
The licensing server is contacted in two situations:
- Activation. When you activate a pasted licence, Tessamark tells the licensing server about your device once. That is where the device limit is counted and where a revoked licence is recorded.
- Renewal. A licence that expires, such as a subscription or a team seat, renews online inside its refresh window. Tessamark checks on launch and each time the app comes to the foreground. A website (Paddle) subscription or a team seat renews through the refresh endpoint; an App Store subscription renews by claiming the store's current entitlement again. Renewal is silent unless it keeps failing, and then Settings shows a warning before the licence lapses.
A perpetual (one-off) licence never needs the server again after activation. If the server cannot be reached when you activate, Pro still switches on and your device is registered later.
